Hi! I’m Megan Neels.
As someone passionate about providing support during difficult times, I help individuals struggling with relationships, mental health issues, stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, guilt, shame, and addiction. My style is eclectic and research-oriented. I believe in finding the right approach for each client, emphasizing understanding patterns, and monitoring progress.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and virtual counselor in North Idaho. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can be an essential tool for self-empowerment and self-improvement. Gaining perspective and understanding context can help individuals make the best decisions to reach their goals, whether personally, professionally, or within relationships. My approach is influenced by existential philosophy, narrative therapy, movement and mindfulness practices, trauma-informed approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills.
I have worked in diverse environments for the past ten years, including teaching yoga in a county jail, providing emotional support for elementary school children, and providing individual, family, and group therapy in an addiction treatment facility. I have also spent time working in an acute psychiatric unit.
I enjoy being with my family, hiking, camping, skiing, traveling, and riding motorcycles when I am not working. I am an animal lover and cherish the love and entertainment my cat and dogs provide. As a working mom and wife, I know how busy life can be.
I look forward to making therapy a realistic tool that you can use in your life.
