Reaching out for help is not easy, and I applaud your courage and hard work as you look to make real change, find hope, and create a more meaningful life.

I specialize in helping people who have troubled relationships, low self-esteem, addiction, depression, and anxiety. I have many years of experience working with clients in sorting out how mood (e.g., depression and anxiety), personality, and substance use interfere with changing behavior and reaching goals.

I offer a relatable, reliable, and relevant style that allows the therapeutic process to proceed organically through an alliance with you as my client. The relationship we develop together is the primary element that facilitates positive and beneficial changes in your life. My goal is to assist you in developing tools and skills to achieve and maintain a sense of balance and to cultivate the wisdom necessary for lifelong growth and development.

I come to the therapeutic relationship having had a diverse range of life experiences that shape who I am and how I approach my work. I have spent much of my training and early career in organizations that support social justice, equality, and the delivery of culturally competent services to marginalized populations.

These experiences have fostered values of humility, openness, acceptance, and respect for the inherent worth of each individual I work with. I honor your dignity and choices as you explore and evaluate difficult experiences on your path toward healing.

I meet you in the process of change exactly where you are, but also act as a guide to get you where you want to be.

I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and psychotherapy models into my personal counseling theory to fit my personal style and technique while taking into consideration you as a person, your culture, your values, and the issue or problem you present during therapy. These approaches focus on the present and changing behavior to improve the future. They include methods to reduce unhelpful behavior, increase connection to self and others, identify values and needs, and take action to achieve desired results.
